Well it looks like my Ford Sport Ka is going to have a trip to my local garage this week since the battery light keeps illuminating whenever i decide to put my foot down. At the moment i have some cat5e cable attached to the battery so that my multimeter leads are extended, the reason i have done this is so that when the light decides its going to light up i can see if there’s a spike in the voltage going to the battery this should pretty much pin point the alternator as been at fault.
This is kind of spooky but my Fiesta RS Turbo did exactly the same when i had it rolling roaded at Well Lane in Batley near Leeds it created a spike at 100mph.
My main issue is that the alternator on my Sport Ka is buried beneath the water pump and i don’t see it been a cheap job to sort id guess at least £200 or upwards, this wouldn’t be to bad but since its Christmas in a few days money is short and my Sport needs taxing before the end of December, insuring in January oh and a MOT in January as well.
So since i could be without with out my Sport Ka for a few days i have been looking at a pretty niffty website offering car hire, it seems to compare all the prices for car hire with the major companies such as Easycar and Budget.

Ok just because there hasn’t been a new post in a few days it doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy. During last night I have ordered a few essential valeting supplies some trusty old friends have been re ordered and some new, all in order to test them out so you don’t have too.

Atlasta Wheel Brush: I needed a Alloy wheel brush that was acid resistant.

Dura Seal: Well I needed a sealant and for 3.79 Litres at £10 its got to be worth a try.

Collinite 476 Wax: Trusted old wax I have used many times before.

Sponge Applicators: Only cost £1.25 each will be ideal for hand polishing.

Chemical Guys Wheel Guard: Used some before and thought it was worth a purchase.

Clay: EXTRA FINE DETAILING CLAY 3 x 60g BARS, I needed some clay as I tend to one bar per car and then send it to the bin or keep it of alloys

Clay Lube: Sonus Glyde Detailing Clay Lubricant bought since I am valeting a friend’s car on Saturday.

Site light 500w Twin head: Bought from screwfix for under £20 it will keep my hands warm in the winter as well as inspecting panels for swirl marks.
