I’ve been after a some new pads for my Meguiars G220 DA Machine polisher for a while now, and whilst i was placing my order with Autobright.co.uk, i thought i’d ask about polishing pads these arent on the website yet but i was informed they will be soon. The polishing pad was £4.75 which i didnt think was bad compared to the Sonus SFX range which retail at about £9 and the Meguiars at £11.
The hook and loop (velco) attachment on the back is attached very well to the polishing pad and i’ve tried to pick a bit off but it started to hurt my fingers first so i gave in and admitted defeat.
Personaly i dont really use the heavy cut polishing pads as i tend to find that you get alot of vibration from them and its very rare that you ever need such a drastic cut, and i tend you use a polish with more cut and stay on a polishing pad which is less aggresive. i would compare the compound pad to Sonus SFX-1 Swirl and Scrtach Remover Pad.

Not long after i had bought my G220 D/A machine polisher i soon realised that there was going to be a issue as i couldnt access the smaller and narrow areas.
This is where the Spot Pad came in ok i needed to buy a new 3.5″ backing plate but this makes doing narrow areas alot easyier.
I have also found working major defects alot quicker with my Spot Pad because you can apply more pressure.
Removing light scratches on rear and front lights is also rewarding work using a Spot Pad as you can really tell the difference when you have corrected them.
I bought my Sonus SFX 2 from Cleanyourcar.co.uk it cost about £7 inc postage
